Balloon Race/competition – Important notice.
We have listened to, and taken account of, your comments and concerns about the potential environmental impact of Rotary’s Great Sponsored Balloon Race. Although we carefully researched the Balloon Race and planned to use biodegradable balloons there is significant international concern on the impact of balloons on wildlife. We have therefore decided to cancel the Balloon Race/Competition to safeguard Rotary’s reputation.
As the Balloon Race was to benefit the Rotary Foundation, Rotarians who kindly purchased tickets for the Balloon Race at the RI Convention in Los Angeles can choose to either have their money back or donate it to the Rotary Foundation. There is no need to get in touch if the choice is to donate the cash.
